Awesome Cakes By Mel

My name is Melody. I started decorating cakes in October of 2007. I made a cake for a friend one day and everybody loved it. They said I should go into business so thats what I am aspiring to do . My mother gave me cake decorating tools for my birthday that year and thats where it all began.

 I'm basically self taught minus four courses I took at my local Michael's craft store. I learn alot from the internet, books and television. My favorite shows are Ace of Cakes and Food Networks Challenge. They are very inspiring. I learn something new with each cake I do.

 I have two assistants, Dozer and Deuce. They like to supervise...or wait for crumbs to fall. Here they are after a long day of decorating.

I entered the Burlington County Times' 50th Anniversary Cake Decorating Contest in September 2008. I won 1st Place for the tiered cakes category.
